Start/Finish: In front of the Please Touch Museum
Runners will leave first and the walkers will follow
Directions
Take Route 76 to City Line Avenue (Route 1 South)
Turn left on Belmont Avenue and proceed to the Avenue of the Republic.
Look for event staff and signage to direct you to Lupus Loop parking.

About the 5K Run & 2 Mile Walk
The 5K distance run starts and finishes in front of Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park. This is a fast, flat USAT&F-certified course on paved toads. Participants will loop around Memorial Hall, the Horticultural Center and the Japanese Tea Garden in beautiful Fairmount Park.
Race Awards
5K Race Awards will be presented in the following categories:
- First, Second and Third Place Male & Female Overall Winners
- First three male & female finishers in each age group:
- 14 and under - 40-49
- 15-19 - 50-59
- 20-29 - 60-69
- 30-39 - 70+
Team Awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Finishing Teams
(Any number can run, first three finishers count).
Team Awards (No team registration allowed on race day)
Win by being the fastest, biggest or by raising the most money!
- Team Participation Award
Given to the team with the most members.
- 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finish awards for team competing in the 5K run. (Any number can run, first three finishers count.)
Teams may have both walkers and runners. – but for fastest team awards, at least three team members must complete the 5K run portion for scoring.
- Team Challenge Award
Is awarded to the team that raises the most money in support of lupus. Employee Matching Gift Programs from your employer or those of your sponsors are considered part of the total raised provided forms are supplied.
- Circle of Friends
We will recognize any team, team member or individual reaching a level of:Bronze $1,000
Silver $2,500
Gold $5,000
Platinum $10,000+.
Circle of Friends certificates will be mailed after the event is closed out.
There is no limit to the number of participants that can receive certificates. Teams, team members, and individuals will receive certificates of achievement for the highest Circle of Friends level achieved only. Circle of Friends Awards will also be posted on www.lupusloop.org.
Other Event Prizes and Features
- Course Marker Signs
Raise $250 in honor or in memory of a loved one and receive an acknowledgment sign on our course! Teams raising $250 or more will also receive a sign. Individuals or teams will receive one sign for every $250 raised by Monday October 25, 2010.
- Highest Individual Fundraiser (raising over $5,000)
Will receive a three-day-two-night stay at a location to be announced! Team members as well as individuals may qualify for this prize.
- For the family
Moon bounce & other fun activities for the kids, refreshments & music, sponsorship information tables.
- Team Photographs
Team Captains - Pick up your team sign at the team registration table when you check in and gather your team for a team photograph outside in the Team Photograph area. Look for signage to direct you. Smile!
